YMCA Expands Financial Assistance

The YMCA of Greater Brandywine (YGBW) is expanding financial assistance and offering a sibling discount for students who will attend its learning centers this fall. YGBW's learning centers will provide academic support, physical fitness activities and socialization opportunities for children in kindergarten through sixth grade on weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with optional aftercare.

Anyone who needs financial support to attend YGBW learning centers may contact the YGBW team at either childcareadmin@ymcagbw.org or 610-643-9622, ext. 2190, for more information.

YGBW learning centers will provide academic support to students to successfully complete their schoolwork, as well as fitness and socialization opportunities. Each group of 12 students will be supervised by a YGBW staff member, and a degreed teacher or educational specialist will be available for every two groups, ensuring a staff-to-student ratio of 1:8.

YGBW has safely provided camp and child care to more than 1,000 children weekly since reopening in June. Just as it has done in these camp and child care programs since reopening, YGBW will continue to employ stable groups and follow health and safety guidelines recommended by the CDC, Department of Human Services, Chester County Health Department, American Academy of Pediatricians and Pennsylvania Board of Health.
