The YMCA of York and York County and the York Revolution are collaborating to hold the YMCA's annual Black Tie Gala virtually at PeoplesBank Park, home of the York Revolution on Thursday, Oct. 1, at 6:30 p.m.
The YMCA made the decision to make its annual gala virtual this year to protect the health and well-being of its supporters and team. By working with the York Revolution, the YMCA will put together a live online event intended to capture the spirit of an in-person gala and raise the funds needed to deliver the Y's services to area residents.
The gala, now called a Virtual Live Benefit, will raise money for LIVESTRONG at the YMCA, a free program for cancer survivors that aims to empower them to reclaim their physical, mental, and emotional strength after their cancer experiences.
The Virtual Live Benefit will be recorded at PeoplesBank Park and livestreamed online. Anyone can participate free of charge in the event, which will include online auctions, speakers, a live appeal, awards and stories from those involved with LIVESTRONG at the YMCA. The silent auction will open on Friday, Sept. 25.
Anyone interested in participating in, supporting, or sponsoring the event may contact Joe Kirkenir at jkirkenir@yorkcoymca.org or 717-812-0119, ext. 300.
