Nominations will be accepted for the fourth annual Women of Achievement Luncheon. YWCA Lancaster will honor four women in the community and help to raise money and awareness for YWCA Lancaster's mission of eliminating racism and empowering women.
YWCA Lancaster seeks to recognize local extraordinary women who selflessly give of their time and energy to make the community a better place. This event recognizes and honors women who have demonstrated qualities of leadership and excellence in their personal and professional endeavors while supporting, embodying, and complementing YWCA Lancaster's mission.
The Women of Achievement Luncheon is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 6, at noon. It may look a bit different this year as staff plan, observing the current guidelines for public gatherings. Regardless of how many people are able to gather in one room, four outstanding women in the community will be honored. A new category has been added for young women ages 16 to 20. The YWCA also wants to offer a special opportunity and recognition for women who have served on the front lines during the coronavirus pandemic, such as a health care worker, grocery store clerk, first responder, police woman, or anyone who was in the midst of the crisis and exhibited grace under fire while embracing the mission of YWCA.
Nominations will be accepted through Monday, July 20. To nominate a woman, readers may visit https://ywcalancaster.org/womenofachievement/ and download a nomination packet. Partner opportunities are still available. For more information, readers may call 717-393-1735.
