MFE Slates Benefit Concert

Music for Everyone (MFE) will hold a Camp MFE benefit concert on Wednesday, July 31, at 7 p.m. at First Reformed Church, 40 E. Orange St., Lancaster. Proceeds will go toward MFE's summer camps, helping provide scholarships so that all who attend do so for free.

The program for the evening will include composers who rocked the boat in the classical world, such as Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Khachaturian and Peter Schickele (aka PDQ Bach). Michael Jamanis and a Juilliard School classmate, cellist Thor S. Sigurdson, both of them are teaching at Camp MFE, will participate. In addition, Jamanis' mother, Frances Veri, will be joined by her husband, Michael Jamanis Sr., for a piano duet. Also participating will be Gina DiCarlo, violin; Rick Ferrarrelli, clarinet; Sharon Ho, piano; Frances Miller, Hang drum and violin; Tyler Walthers, trumpet; and Matt Woodson, percussion.
