Orchestra Appoints General Manager

The Lancaster Symphony Orchestra (LSO) board of directors has announced the appointment of Guy McIntosh as its new general manager. McIntosh will work closely with LSO musicians and staff and the board of directors to continue the orchestra's goals of artistic excellence, community engagement, and educational outreach. He began in the position on Jan. 2.

In addition to working as an administrator for numerous performing arts organizations, McIntosh is a professional musician and has been a member of the LSO trumpet section since 2010.

McIntosh comes to the LSO from the Mid-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra (MSO). While at the MSO he oversaw a successful digital transformation, updated marketing campaigns, and a strong focus on public relations.

In the midst of a national search for a new music director, over the next six months the LSO will transition through its own rebrand. Stephen Gunzenhauser, now in his 40th year as the LSO's music director, will retire at the end of this season.
