Elizabethtown Area High School, 600 E. High St., will present its spring musical, "Seussical," on Thursday, Feb. 28, and Friday, March 1, at 7 p.m. and on Saturday, March 2, at 1 and 7 p.m. The production coincides with Dr. Seuss Day, also called National Read Across America Day, which is held every year on the school day closest to Dr. Seuss' birthday, March 2. This year, Dr. Seuss Day will occur on March 1.
The 41-person cast includes senior Ryan Kruft as The Cat in the Hat, junior Adam Evans as Horton the Elephant, sophomore Lexy Martin as Jojo, junior Claire Fritz as Gertrude McFuzz, senior Maya Hollinger as Mayzie La Bird, sophomore Gaby Hohenwarter as the Sour Kangaroo, junior Carter Rutkowski as General Genghis Khan Schmitz, sophomore Bryan Murray as Mr. Mayor, and senior Kayla Azaroff as Mrs. Mayor. A stage and technical crew of 37 students and a 24-member pit orchestra will also be part of the production.
Advance tickets are available for a set price for adults, with a discount for students and seniors. Tickets may be purchased online at http://www.etownschools.org/theater or at the school on Monday, Feb. 25, or Tuesday, Feb. 26, from 6 to 8 p.m. Tickets will also be available one hour before each performance for a higher price.
