The Susquehannock Jazz Band will hold its fifth annual swing dance on Friday, Feb. 8, from 6 to 10 p.m. at Southern York Elementary School, 3280 Fissels Church Road, Glen Rock. Community members of all ages are invited to dance or just listen to live music.
The evening will start with a pasta meal including salad, desserts and beverages. Following dinner, there will be a group swing lesson where instructors from the York Social Dance Studio will demonstrate some basic swing steps. No prior dance experience is required. The band will provide live music from the late 1930s and the 1940s, following the standard lineup of that time, featuring 13 horns and a five-piece rhythm section, plus male and female vocalists.
