Gretna Theatre is producing and touring "No Easy Road to Freedom," a one-hour play that celebrates the importance of diversity and inclusion in America's history. During February, the educational show is being performed at local schools and retirement communities.

"No Easy Road to Freedom" is an educational show that uses poetry, drama and song to illustrate individual bravery and determination in the face of oppression. The story travels through American history with scenes on immigration, women's rights, the Civil Rights Movement and more. Professional actors perform roles such as Martin Luther King Jr. and Rosa Parks. The playwright is Tom Quinn, the play is directed by Renee Krizan, and the production is considered suitable for sixth-graders to adults.
